About the painting
This painting is actually one of my favorites. I was curious about the way people hold their phones. I realized that we can understand what they're doing—texting, taking a photo, or scrolling—just by observing how they hold their phones.
Since then, I've found myself painting hands repeatedly. I'm intrigued by the way we use our hands, each with our unique gestures, yet collectively. these gestures can tell a story that evokes shared experinces.
